The panorama of the online training course
Giving the lectures were Ms Nguyen Ngoc Bao Linh - Deputy head of the Division for supervision and inspection of foreign banks and other organizations, Department for Banking Supervision and Inspection I (Agency I), Mr Nguyen Van Kiet – Deputy head of Department for supervision and management of People’s Credit Funds (PCFs), the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) Hanoi Branch and lecturers who were members of the Board of Directors, Supervision department of the DIV’s Headquarter.

In her opening speech, Ms Phan Thi Thanh Binh - Deputy General Director of the DIV stressed that supervision over insured institutions was one of the important tasks of the DIV, which was implemented since the DIV’s establishment. For the past time, the DIV has always paid attention to bringing into play its role of supervision to well fulfill its assigned tasks. The outcome of supervision for the last time has been recognized by the Executive Board of the DIV and the SBV, which not only lays a basis for examination and other tasks of the DIV but also puts forward recommendations to the SBV so that the SBV can timely deal with violations on safety of banking operation, risks causing unsafety to the banking system.
However, higher requirements of supervision principles, developments of the information system, together with objective factors such as disasters, pandemics etc have imposed a lot of challenges on supervision, requiring supervision staff of the DIV to be regularly updated and exchange new knowledge and experiences. Besides, with new functions, tasks of the DIV in participating in restructuring weak credit institutions attached with settling bad debts, firstly concentrating on PCFs, it is necessary to require staff of the DIV in general and supervision staff in particular to be professionally improved.
Ms Phan Thi Thanh Binh hoped that participants would concentrate, overcome technical obstacles, actively exchange ideas to ensure the quality of the training course.
The training course was divided into 4 major sessions to provide fundamental knowledge, essential experiences to supervision staff so that they would improve their professional skills of supervision over insured institutions in particular and supervision in general to apply to their work.
Despite complicated developments of the pandemic, the training course was held in the online form, participants still actively exchanged ideas, discussed about difficulties, obstacles and proposed solutions to enhance the effectiveness of supervision of the DIV.
After the training course, participants have to make reports on the training course, the Organizing Committee will give awards to 10 outstanding participants.
