The ceremony was attended by Mr. Dao Minh Tu – Standing Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), representatives from various departments of the SBV and from other ministries and agencies.
The DIV’s participants were Mr. Pham Bao Lam - Chairman of the Board of Directors; members of the Board of Directors, members of the Board of Management, Controllers, the Chairman of the Trade Union, heads and deputy heads of departments at the DIV’s headquarters, and the DIV regional branches’ directors.
Speaking at the ceremony, Standing Deputy Governor Dao Minh Tu congratulated the DIV on the appointment of the new General Director after a year and three months.
“Mr. Dang Duy Cuong is a young officer, who had already worked at the DIV, and after a period working at the SBV, he has now been reassigned back to the DIV. I believe that in his new position, the DIV’s new General Director will continue taking advantage of his experience, knowledge, and capabilities to contribute to the development of the banking sector, and live up to the expectations of the SBV’s Management Board as well as the trust of the DIV’s officers and staff” emphasized Standing Deputy Governor Dao Minh Tu.
On behalf of the DIV’s Board of Directors, Mr. Pham Bao Lam, Chairman of the Board of Directors, congratulated Mr. Dang Duy Cuong on being entrusted by the SBV’s Governor with the position of member of the DIV’s Board of Directors and General Director. Mr. Pham Bao Lam believed that with his qualifications, practical experience, and management skills, the new General Director would have many advantages in fulfilling the assigned duties.
In the coming November, the DIV will proudly celebrate its 25th anniversary. This is an extremely important and meaningful milestone, recognizing the collective achievements of the DIV’s leaders and employees, who have demonstrated a strong sense of solidarity, exerted considerable joint efforts, and used their intellectual abilities to carry out their mission under the close guidance of the Government and the SBV. In the near future, the DIV will need to focus on several key tasks: celebrating the DIV's 25th anniversary; implementing the 2024 Law on Credit Institutions; continuing to execute the Action Program for implementing the Deposit Insurance Development Strategy; and researching and proposing amendments and supplements to the Law on Deposit Insurance, etc.
Mr. Pham Bao Lam requested that the General Director immediately engage in the management tasks, leveraging his expertise, and experience to oversee the organization’s operations and ensure the completion of the assigned duties. He also stated that the Board of Directors would support the General Director and the Board of Management in fulfilling their tasks, with the aim of making the DIV a unified and progressively developed organization and successfully carrying out the responsibilities assigned by the SBV and the Governor.
In his statement of gratitude, the newly appointed General Director of the DIV, Mr. Dang Duy Cuong, expressed his honor and gratitude to the SBV’s Management Board and Governor for the trust in assigning him his new position. He also acknowledged the valuable guidance provided by the SBV’s Standing Deputy Governor. Furthermore, the new General Director expressed gratitude to the SBV’s Organization and Personnel Department, where he worked for over 9 years, as well as the DIV’s leaders and Chairman of the Board of Directors for their support, which enabled him to commence his duties immediately.
“I was assigned to the SBV after the DIV’s successful celebration of the 15th anniversary. I have now been reassigned to the DIV during the lively and joyful preparations for the 25th anniversary. Over the past nine years, the DIV has experienced significant growth, with the Operating Provision Fund increasing by 5.6 times; the number of local branches rising twice to 8; and the construction of a new, impressive headquarters. I fully perceive that these achievements are due to the positive contributions of many generations of the DIV’s leaders and staff, as well as the continuous support of the SBV. In my new position, I am fully aware of my role as a member of the Board of Directors and the head of the Board of Management and will dedicate myself to the development of the organization, giving the organization’s interests the highest and most important priority" pledged General Director Dang Duy Cuong.
