
Deposit insurers participating in the 2025 IADI-APRC and EARC Annual Meeting and International Conference
This year, APRC and EARC were jointly hosted by KDIF in cooperation with IADI. In this context, DIV delegation joined the APRC Annual Meeting. At the meeting, members of the committees were briefed about the activities of the Research Technical Committee and the Training and Technical Assistance Committee reported since the 2024 Annual Meeting, and discussed key issues for the Committees in the upcoming period. Discussions also covered amendments to the regulations on the election of the APRC Chair, the introduction of new APRC members, outreach activities targeting prospective IADI members in the region by 2026, and the pilot assessment process of the Core Principles for Effective Deposit Insurance Systems. In addition, the IADI Secretariat presented the upcoming work plans of IADI and its members.
As an integral part of the Conference program, the APRC Chair and the KDIF Chair co-chaired the APRC CEO Dialogue – a forum for the heads of member institutions in the region to exchange views and discuss key issues and emerging trends related to the financial and banking landscape, socio-economic developments, regulatory changes in deposit insurance frameworks across jurisdictions, and the policy implications for both APRC and IADI.

As part of the program, the delegation attended the International Conference themed “Navigating Digital Frontiers: Charting the Future of Deposit Insurance”. The Conference focused on the following topics: (i) Digital Tenge coins and deposit insurers: Central bank digital currency’s role in shaping the future of financial services; (ii) Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and their Implications for Deposit Insurance; (iii) Rethinking Deposit Insurance in a Borderless Digital Economy: Regulating Stable coins and Exploring Policy Options for Deposit Insurance; (iv) Tokenization and Deposit Insurance: Exploring Divergent Views on Coverage Extension; (v) Driving digital innovation: IADI Members in action.
The Conference attracted the participation and knowledge sharing of experts, policymakers, and senior specialists from the European Central Bank, the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, the Bank for International Settlements, the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO), as well as senior executives from central banks such as the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Reserve Bank of India, and the Bank of Thailand, together with regulators from regional deposit insurers. Participants exchanged perspectives on challenges, opportunities, and strategies to ensure financial stability, enhance depositor protection, and strengthen public confidence in the rapidly developing digital economy.

DIV delegation at the 2025 APRC Annual Meeting and International Conference
In 2025, with key priorities such as amending the Law on Deposit Insurance and conducting a mid-term review of the Deposit Insurance Development Strategy through 2025, with a vision towards 2030, DIV seeks to further enhance cooperation with regional and international organizations. Knowledge and experience shared by advanced deposit insurers will serve as valuable references in delivering the assigned tasks. Accordingly, in the coming period, DIV will continue to actively engage in APRC Technical Committees as well as specialized conferences and workshops at both regional and international levels.
