Participants are responsible for obtaining entry
visa to Vietnam. Should you need an official
letter from DIV to facilitate visa procedures,

Most visitors to Vietnam need a visa to enter
the country. Visas are exempted for the citizens
of the countries, which have signed a bilateral
or unilateral visa exemption agreement with
Vietnam; tourist visa may be valid for 15 to 30
days.
Visa exemption:
- Not more than 30 days: for citizens of
Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore,
Indonesia and Laos.
- Not more than 15 days: for citizens of Japan
and South Korea, Sweden, Norway, Denmark,
Finland.
- French citizens holding valid diplomatic
passports are exempt from visa requirements when
visiting Vietnam and are allowed to stay for up
3 months at one time or on several visits within
six months since their first immigration dates.
- Citizens of Chile holding valid diplomatic or
official passports are exempt from needing
entry, exit and transit visas in Vietnam’s
territory and are allowed to stay for up 60 days
on each visit.
I. There are two ways to obtain the visa:
1. Tourist
visa can be obtained in Vietnamese embassies,
consulates abroad.
To apply for a visa, the requirements are as
follows:

Entry permit form (which can vary from one
Vietnamese embassies or consulate abroad to
another) - There are two categories of this
form: for foreigners and for Vietnamese
overseas.

Two photos (4cmx6cm or 3cmx4cm)
-
Original passport
-
Visa fee.
You should send your application and photos to a
Vietnamese embassy or consulate abroad, which is
most convenient to you. On your requirement, the
reply will be returned by post (you must provide
stamped envelopes with your name and address).

2.Tourist
visa can easily be obtained from a Vietnamese
travel agency

2.1
Visa at Embassy or Consulate of Vietnam abroad.
If you want to pick up your visa from one of
Vietnam’s Embassies or Consulates nearest to

Embassy/Consulate of Vietnam abroad in what
country that you want to pick up your visa.
After 4 days, you will receive the approval code
by email. You can take the code to Embassy or
Consulate of Vietnam
abroad (the Embassy/Consulate where you pick up
your visa), fill in an application forms then
give your passport to Embassy staffs who will
stamp the visa into your passport.
Alternatively, if it is not convenient for you
to go to an Embassy or Consulate, you can post
your passport (using secure postage), with a
print-out of the approval code provided to you,
and a stamp return envelop to the
Embassy/Consulate. The Embassy/Consulate will
stamp the visa into your passport and post it
back to you.
Note: Always check the visa in your passport
for accuracy as soon as you receive the passport!
Visa fees:
- Processing Fee: US$ 10 (to be paid to
the Travel agent in Vietnam – preferably in
cash. The Travel Agent will collect processing
fee from you
in Vietnam).
- Visa Fee (check with the Embassy/Consulate
where you pick up your visa. Normally US$
25).
2.2.
Visa upon arrival (get visa upon arrival
at the airport). If you prefer to obtain
the visa upon your arrival at a Vietnamese airport, please email following

- Processing Fee: US$ 20 (to be paid to
the Travel agent in Vietnam – preferably in
cash. The Travel Agent will collect from you in

- Visa fee: US$ 25 ( to be paid to
Immigration Department at arrival airport in
Vietnam).
II. Term of payment:
1. Pay directly for the travel agent who
processes your visa at your hotel in
Vietnam in cash at the concrete meeting time.
2. Or pay by bank transfer to the travel
agent:

CUSTOMS
Customs procedures in Vietnam are quick and
simple. To enter and exit Vietnam, visitors are
required to fulfill the entrance and exit
procedures (form CHY-2000).
Goods prohibited importing:
weapons, ammunition, explosives, military
technical equipment, drugs, toxic chemicals,
debauched and reactionary products, firecrackers
of all kinds, toys with negative impacts on the
dignity education, social security and safety,
cigarettes beyond the stipulated quantity, etc.
Goods prohibited exporting: weapons,
ammunition, explosives, military technical
equipment, antiques, drugs, toxic chemicals,
wild animals, rare and precious animals and
plants, documents related to the national
security, etc.
