The meeting was attended by representatives from the DIV, including: Mr Dao Quoc Tinh – Member of the Board of Directors, General Director; Mr. Vu Van Long - Deputy General Director; Mrs. Vu Tuyet Lan –Head of Communication Department; the Board of Management, heads of departments and professional staff of the Branch. Besides, there were participants from the HCM city Banking University, including Mr Bui Huu Toan –Acting Principal, Mr Doan Thanh Ha –Vice Principal, heads of faculties, lecturers, the Centre for student assistance, clubs, groups with more than 300 students of the Finance-Banking and Business Management Faculties.
Delivering the opening speech at the event, Mr Duong Quoc Long - Director of the Branch confirmed that after 19 years of establishment and development, the DIV has continuously made its efforts to prove its roles in protecting legitimate rights and benefits of depositors, contributing to keeping the system of credit institutions stable, ensuring the safe and sound development of banking activities. Disseminating the DI policy to depositors in general and students in particular is an important part of operations of the Branch. The objective of the meeting on exchange of information about the DI policy was to communicate to raise the awareness of students – the future owners of the country – potential depositors, who will, together with the DIV, carry out the DI policy.
Mr Nguyen Tran Phuc –Head of the Banking Faculty said that with the strategic vision of becoming a center for policy research, analysis and training in economy-finance-banking, the HCM city Banking University has constantly strived to become “the Destination of Knowledge” and always paid attention to outdoor activities of students. The HCM Banking University wishes to have more exchanges, discussions, researches on the economy, performance of the DIV, and therefore contributing to communicating the DI policy to depositors in a more profound way.
At the event, the Branch introduced fundamental elements of the DI policy, professional operations and operational networks of the DIV. Within the framework of the meeting, there was an exciting contest among 03 teams (Ocean, Five Stars and Fire) with good, creative preparation, including: greeting, answering 30 multiple-choice questions focusing on fundamental elements of the DI policy such as deposit insurance coverage limit, DI premium, some functions and tasks of the DIV and popular international practices.
In addition, in a 10-questions quiz about DI, almost students had correct answers to all questions, showing that they had done research on the DI policy in a serious, systematic way.
In the direct dialogue, the General Director of the DIV, Mr Dao QuocTinh and the organizer answered inquiries and raised a lot of interesting questions to students over the DI policy and the operations of the DIV.
Closing this event, Mr Vu Van Long –Deputy General Director of the DIV highly appreciated the students’ seriousness and desire for knowledge of the DI policy, very enthusiastic discussions showing unity to create strength, solid knowledge base for students themselves. Through this exchange meeting, the DIV wishes to continue coordinating, sharing information with universities in Ho Chi Minh city in the coming time, through which students could become the promoters who together with the DIV would bring the DI policy into play, make active contribution to the sustainable development of the banking performance in particular and the economy in general.
